Obasanjo reveals why God made Donald Trump US President

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed the reason God allowed Donald Trump to become the President of United States of America.
According to him, Trump became US President so that America can be humbled.
Obasanjo, who appeared to be mocking the US election last November, stated this at an event held at the French Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa.
He said that even though Africa still needed foreign direct investment, it was time for the continent to show the rest of the world that it can take charge of its own future,

The two-time Nigerian Head of state, who said he was happy about the turnout of events in America, added: ‘‘The fact that America can produce a Trump in this day and age, it means Americans are as human as we are. ‎
‘”I am not justifying what African leaders are doing. If our leaders are doing wrong, we should say that they are doing wrong.
“Trump has come by Divine Will so that America can be humbled, and we can also learn a lesson.
“Nobody can do it for us, and it is all of us, and if we do it, we will get it right.”

NO,I CANT MARRY A PASTOR!

Yesterday was Sunday, I was in church and everyone looked glorious... And the service was just heavenly, my pastor was delivering the message with so much passion...His words were hitting me right where I sat, suddenly my stomach did a flip flop... Oh....No!..Not in church... I couldn't control it.. I immediately dashed into the toilet and had a wonderful time there... but I could bet I was hearing sobs... Sobs coming from the back of the toilet. After cleaning up, I followed the sound and guess who I met, Daniella, my pastor's beautiful 6 year old daughter crying and Cherish, 9 years trying to calm her down..
I tried to find out what was wrong, even though it took a long time before they voiced out. They were hungry... Daniella said " Aunty when I grow up, I will never marry a pastor, so that I won't be hungry... My Daddy is a pastor and we are always hungry, but my friend's daddy is not pastor and they never go hungry. Even mummy is hungry, we didn't eat yesterday."
I couldn't tell how tears flowed down my face, and God's word hit me like an arrow in my heart " We have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap material gift from you"...1 cor 9:11.
How could I explain to this girl's that being a pastor was a noble work and that the reason why they were going hungry was not their father's fault but the fault of we the members.... We were not following God's order... A lot of us eat delicacies and forget the levites who were interceding for us before God... We forget men who have sleepless nights digging the scriptures to get out secrets to move our life forward... The HolySpirit technically raised my head up as I saw the array of executive cars owned by the members which was a big contrast to the rickety car my pastor drives... Now I understand why my pastor's wife wore clothes that were not fashionable.
Friend, it's high time, we started taking the material needs of those who are blessing us spiritually seriously... Would it be wrong to personally placed your pastor on a monthly allowance... Would it be wrong to support your pastor in paying his children's school fees...
Anyone who blesses you or ministers to you spiritually, make it a duty to bless them materially...
Our pastors are hungry....
1 cor 9:11.
God bless you... Bless a minister today.... And see how God will bless your ways... Remember a soldier who defends a nation and fights for a country does not have to do a side job in other to meet his needs.... The Army provides for him and his family... Let's provide for our spiritual soldiers.... Have a blessed week.
Bless a minister of the gospel this we, this month and beyond.

HAPPY SUNDAY!! Open Heavens Daily Devotional – Sunday July 16th 2017 [Read Here]

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL
SUNDAY JULY 16TH 2017

THEME: LEGS ON VACATION?

MEMORISE:

And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

Acts 3:8

Read: Acts 3:1-9

1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:

2 Samuel 7-9, Ezekiel 9:1-10:2

MESSAGE:

“And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.”  Mark 10:52

From the above scripture, the way Bartimaeus responded after the Burden Bearer lifted the burden of blindness off his life is a lesson to us all. After the Burden Bearer has answered your call and lifted off your burden, certain follow-up steps are expected of you.

Some people after receiving their miracle thank God for a minute and then bid him farewell. This should not be so! Immediately after Bartimaeus received his sight, he became a follower of Jesus Christ.
Know for sure that the devil will definitely contest every victory you secure over him. For failing to take the necessary follow-up steps required of you after each victory, the devil can reintroduce an entirely new burden into your life (Matthew 12:43-45). Post-victory follow-up action is as pre-victory perseverance.

After a burden is lifted off your shoulders, what should you do? You should praise God. For taking your burden away, praising God is the least you can do. Praise should flow naturally out of you as it did from the lame man in today’s Bible reading.
Immediately after his burden of stagnation was lifted, he got up, walking, leaping and praising God.
For 40 years he was placed in front of the temple gate, but he could not go in; but after he gained the ability to walk, he entered the temple, compelled a praise service to be held on his behalf, and on that day, many people learnt how to praise God through him.

For 40 years, this man had observed how those parishioners came to the temple and would barely move their legs and bodies while praising God.

He would have said to himself several times, “Oh God! I wish I had legs, I would have shown these people how to dance for you”. Then that day, God granted his desire and strengthen his two legs, and boy, he really did dance!
He singlehandedly changed a regular service into a praise service. You who have always had the use of your two legs, when did you ever praise God by leaping? When you truly praise God, your legs cannot be motionless.
When some people praise God, only their lips are moving; the rest of their bodies, especially their legs, go on vacation. How do you plan to praise God when he finally lifts that nagging burden off your neck? From now on, start praising Him that way, and you will have your miracle speedily.

KEY POINT:

Those who understand the efficacy of praise are never shy to praise God anyhow, anywhere and anytime.
 AUTHOR:

PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

HYMN 17:

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

1. When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,

When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,

Count your many blessings, name them one by one,

And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

Refrain:

Count your blessings,

name them one by one,

Count your blessings,

see what God has done!

Count your blessings,

name them one by one,

And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

2. Are you ever burdened with a load of care?

Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?

Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,

And you will keep singing as the days go by.

Refrain:
 3. When you look at others with their lands and gold,

Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;

Count your many blessings—*money cannot buy

Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

Refrain:

4. So, amid the conflict whether great or small,

Do not be discouraged, God is over all;

Count your many blessings, angels will attend,

Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

Nnamdi Kanu Threatens To Kill Obasanjo And Household

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has threatened to wipe out former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his household should he (Kanu) be killed. Addressing elders and chieftains at his residence in Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State on Thursday, Kanu said his organization would kill Obasanjo if he attempts to harm him. Kanu’s threat came after former President Obasanjo commented that Nigerians must do everything possible to stop the campaigning for the secession of Biafra, a cause spearheaded by Kanu. The former president made the comment on Tuesday while speaking at the International Conference Centre in Abuja during the launch of the biography of the late Brigadier Zakariya Maimalari. He stressed that a failure to put an end to the Biafra agitation could lead to a repeat of the 1966 coup and the other events that eventually culminated in the civil war. The Biafran agitator responded with a threat to the elder statesman. “I remember Obasanjo calling us names. They said we must eliminate Kanu and for those words coming out from his mouth, he is going to die,” Kanu declared. “I told Obasanjo that I have given instructions to IPOB should anything happen to me. Everything that comes from Obasanjo’s lineage will die the same day at the same time. It is a standing instruction to IPOB. “Wherever they are, we will kill them ourselves at the same time, the same day, 12 noon, wherever we find them all over the world. I am not like anything they have seen before,” Kanu boasted.

“They want to put me in more trouble” – Billionaire kidnapper Evans denies lawsuits against police

Notorious billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike a.k.a Evans, has denied knowledge of the lawsuit slammed on the Inspector General of Police for violation of his human rights.

Two fundamental Human rights lawsuits were filed on his behalf by one lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, against the IGP and three others.
The lawyer had approached the Federal High Court in Lagos last week claiming that Evans had asked him to challenge his continuous detention without trial by the police.

But Evans says he’s not aware of this.
Olukoya listed the Commissioner of Police in Lagos Fatai Owoseni, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos Command and the Nigeria Police Force as the respondents in the suits.
In one of the suits, Olukoya claimed Evans was asking for N300 million in damages for alleged illegal detention and unconstitutional media trial.

But in an interview with Channels Television on Sunday, Evans described the lawsuits as an attempt by some persons to put him in more trouble.

“I have no hand in any case filed against the police and I did not speak with any lawyer or my father to file a case on my behalf. All I will say is that they should temper justice with mercy” he said.

The 36-year-old father of five said should the police release him, he would not leave detention because his kidnap victims would kill him.

How ‘Ghosts’ Keep Frustrating Me In Benue – Governor Ortom Cries Out

The governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has cried out in horror as he accuses ‘ghosts’ of sabotaging his efforts.
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has declared that dead workers and some others who are supposed to have retired are still collecting salaries in his state, thereby frustrating his efforts.
He said the development had greatly increased the state’s wage bill to N7.9bn monthly, which he said was too much for his government to handle.
Ortom said this in an interview with State House correspondents shortly after attending a meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja during the weekend.
The governor said although he was committed to timely payment of workers’ salary, this could not be achieved with the unsustainable wage bill.
He expressed the hope that a verification exercise, which will last three months, would bring sanity to the system.
Ortom said, “You will recall that I declared a state of emergency on ‎payment of salaries, and I want to have the capacity to pay salaries as and when due because a worker deserves his wages.

“We discovered that there were so many leakages on our payroll and ghost workers and other infiltration here and there.

“I think that a wage bill of over N3.2bn is too much at the state level. And when you add pensions and gratuity, you are talking of about N4.2bn. It is too much for Benue State.
“At the local government, you have a wage bill of N3.7bn. So, if you are talking about N7.9bn for a state, it is not decent enough.

“Ghost workers, those who were due for retirement are still in the service, those who are dead are still collecting salaries and all that.

“So, we believe that at the end of the day, we will be able to scale down to a level that we will be able to pay salaries as and when due.”

The Dean, Faculty of Social Science, Bowen University, Iwo, Prof. John Ayoade, has warned that personal information provided on the social media could be exploited by kidnappers to get their targets.

According to him, Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp, and email have become sources of required information and those who are unwary expose themselves. He stated this while delivering a paper titled, “The Challenge of Peace and Security in Times of Economic Recession: The Nigerian Experience,” during a workshop organised by the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, and African Peace building Network of the Social Science Research Council, New York. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kayode Soremekun, said the topic was apt considering rising cases of conflicts in the world, especially Africa. Ayoade said, “The qualification for kidnapping is the ability to pay a huge ransom. Information is required for a successful operation and the recent communication explosion has aided the nefarious act.” He listed Niger Delta militants, kidnapping, agitation for secession and Boko Haram terrorism as some of the products of bad governance, poverty, and corruption in the country, which the Federal Government must tackle headlong. He stated that the objective of Boko Haram was territorial control, adding that religion was only used as a camouflage
